As San Diego Comic-Con rolls on into the final days, we get a juicy trailer from Naughty Dog revealing yet another character to thicken the plot of The Last of Us.

His name is Bill, and he is voiced by the talented W. Earl Brown who’s grizzled features fit oh too well for his appearance in the last season of Deadwood. In this new trailer entitled “Bill’s Safe House”, we see Ellie, Bill, and Joel scurry through a door and slam it behind them. All the while the horrific sounds of the infected can be heard chasing them down.

Watch the cinematic to find out a little more about this new character and why he’s helping Joel and Ellie survive in their time of need. But don’t expect Naughty Dog to reveal everything on Bill in his firstĀ outing, we’ll have to play the game to get that.

Its a rare treat to hear the child-like Ashley Johnson curse so earnestly. Naughty Dog has mentioned in a previous interview that the strong language in The Last of Us is necessary to convey the stress in each situation. Its written in there naturally, rather than forcefully or comedically like in House of the Dead Overkill.

There is so much more to learn about the upcoming PlayStation exclusive, and so many more days until it comes out in 2013. Without getting too far ahead of ourselves we retreat back to our backlog to catchup.

What will you be playing until The Last of Us is upon us?
