UPDATE: Random winner has been chosen. Thanks to all who participated.

Its Friday and its time to give away Brian Provinciano’s 7-year old testament to his love for 8-bit retro gaming. I’ve got a copy of Retro City Rampage for Steam and someone out there in readerland wants it. Question is who’s gonna get it?

Hopefully our readers already know at least a little bit about Retro City Rampage. Its a top down 8-bit Grand Theft Auto styled game. Its story is both original and a total knockoff.

You play a character named Player who looks like Mutt from Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. At the beginning, he’s working for a sinister mad man hell bent on pushing over a bank. The bank job is where you witness the similarities this mad man has with Batman’s arch nemesis, The Joker.

Things take a turn pretty quickly, Player gets a taste of the Sonic speed with some special shoes, then the story does a 180 with the arrival of what looks like Bill and Ted while on their excellent adventure. Player takes the time machine, and the rest is history. Or does he go back to the future?

Take a gander at this most amazing RCR commercial that, like the game, is an┬áhomage of the 80’s.

If Doc Brown, TMNT, hiding in a box during a mission that is nearly an exact replica of the first Metal Gear, and jumping on the heads of pedestrians sounds like you cup of highly caffeinated coffee, then you already love Retro City Rampage.

I’d like to give you a Steam code for the game, but you gotta do something for me. Leave us a comment below telling us one thing you miss about the 80s. Obviously, if you’re not from the 80s, then this will be a bit of a challenge without the phone booth time machine.

I will pick one winner on Sunday at 12pm PDT to get the code. And do share this on Twitter. In some way, I’d like you to think that it will help your chances. Any questions?
