Here’s one for all you old-school gamers. Co-collaborators Shaun Inman, Rusty Moyher, and Matt Grimm have pledged to create six 8-bit games in six months…if they raise $60,000 on Kickstarter by December 12. The project, dubbed Retro Game Crunch,  is an ambitious endeavor from the creators of The Last RocketBloop, and Super Clew Land.

Contributors of $15 or more will be eligible to participate in a vote that will determine the theme of each game. After the voting has ended, the Retro Game Crunch team will “crunch” out a game based upon the theme in three days’ time. Pretty intense, right? Backers of $25 or more will also be able to download Super Clew Land for free once the Kickstarter campaign has ended.

What makes these three qualified? Their first collaborative effort, Super Clew Land, was developed in three measly days, while Inman’s The Last Rocket landed on Edge Magazine’s 50 Must-Play iOS games list.

If you want to support 8-bit goodness, get to backing. The campaign has leveled a bit and stands at $23,098 as of this writing, so if you want to see more of these types of games, you better start forking over some Gs. (…yeah, I know I’m too white to get away with that.)
