The word is out now that Brian Provinciano has finally submit Retro City Rampage for certification and release on Wii, XBLA, and the PlayStation Network in Europe. While the game has been out on the North American PlayStation Network for quite some time, these versions will include all the spit and polish right away.

They are different enough for Provinciano to ask sites to review the new versions instead of the older code on PSN. Though the NA PSN version for PS3 and Vita has been patched to include all the improvements like faster cars, tips screens, shop icons on the map, additional tutorials, checkpoints, level balancing and more, its nice to know that those patiently waiting won’t have to patch the game day one.

While Retro City Rampage is self published by Provinciano for the PlayStation Network, Wii, and PC, self publishing is not allowed on XBLA. So to bring the game to XBLA, D3 Publisher stepped in to do the publishing and get the game in the hands of XBOX 360 gamers in North America, Europe, and the UK.

Australia and New Zealand will be getting the game, but only on PC and PS Vita. Provinciano explains that Retro City Rampage is a one-man developed and published title and the required costs of game ratings in those countries does not allow him to release on other consoles. Vita slips through the cracks as a “mobile” device with the existing PEGI rating.
