Chart-topping Roboto game is OUYA bound

Roboto is one of the most polished games I’ve seen announced for OUYA thus far, and if it’s statistics on iOS and Android are any indication, this thing is going to be an absolute OUYA beast. It’s adoption on Android has been a bit slow, but at one point the iOS version earned top honors as the iPad game of the week which catapulted the title into the iTunes Top 10 Apps among legendary games such as Angry Birds, Cut The Rope, and Fruit Ninja. Take a look at the game in action.

One reason to be excited about Roboto on the OUYA is because of the excitement of the developer’s themselves: they’re amped! When they announced their involvement with OUYA they didn’t do so by tiptoeing into the space: theycannonballed in, saying:

When we first caught wind of the Kickstarter campaign about a company attempting to make a new kind of game console, we instantly fell out of our chairs from the pure possibility shock that the Ouya can offer.  We then raced over to immediately back the project.  Bam, full development backing.  Most of us at Fenix Fire grew up on console games, which to us means TV + controller in hand + high end graphics.  To Fenix Fire, the Ouya is like getting run over by 18 wheels of awesome.

Run over by 18 wheels of awesome? Nice imagery, guys. The side scrolling Robot is exactly the type of beautiful, polished game that will help the OUYA shine by providing a more immersive game experience with the game controller and big screen TV. This game can’t arrive soon enough.

FenixFire, the company behind Roboto, has a couple other games on iOS and Android as well. We hope they’ll eventually bring these games, and others, to the OUYA as well. But first things first… Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto!
